Freedom Missionary Baptist Church

Statement of Faith

I. God

  • We believe that there is one and only living and true God. He is an infinite, intelligent Spirit, whose name is JEHOVAH, and that He is the Maker and Supreme Ruler of both Heaven and Earth.
  • We believe that God is manifest in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are one and are in total agreement with the other. (1 John 5:7)

II. The Scriptures

  • We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired, and is a perfect treasure of heavenly instruction; that it has GOD for its author, salvation for its end, and is absolute truth without any mixture of error. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21)
  • We believe that the Authorized King James Bible is the inspired and perfectly preserved word of God for English speaking people. We are King James ONLY.

III. Man

  • We believe that man was created in perfect holiness but voluntarily sinned against God his Creator, and thus brought sin and death upon the whole human race. (Romans 5:12)

IV. Salvation

  • We believe that the blessing of salvation is free to all through the preaching of the gospel, and that a man must simply put his faith in the finished work of Christ (His death, burial, and resurrection) in order to be saved. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
  • We believe that salvation is eternal to those who believe, and that saints in this church age have no fear of losing their salvation. (John 3:16, John 10:28-29)
  • We believe that those who are saved will one day live eternally in Heaven with Christ, and those who reject Jesus Christ as Savior will be banished forever from His presence to the Lake of Fire.

V. The End Times

  • We believe in the pre-millennial, pre-tribulational Rapture of the Church, in which Christ will come to gather His Saints unto Himself. This Rapture will usher in the seven years of Tribulation for those left behind.
  • We believe that the Second Advent of Christ, in which He will come in the revelation with His Saints, will take place after the end of the Great Tribulation.

VI. The Church

  • We believe that a local visible church is a congregation of baptized believers who observe the commandments of Christ and exercise the gifts, rights, and privileges of the Holy Bible; and that the only two scriptural offices are that of the pastor/bishop, and the deacons.
  • We believe that there are two ordinances of the Baptist church. The first being baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. The second being the Lord's Supper, using unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine.
